3Dan Clark’s days are filled with parenting his three children, 8 year old Jude, 7 year old Lucy, and 5 year old Sadie, as well as being the Hospice Chaplain and Alzheimer Program Director at a nursing home and home health care company on the westside. In his day job, Dan is implementing a Music & Memory program, an innovative approach to dementia care that uses the healing power of music to help people losing themselves to Alzheimer’s Disease to reconnect to their world. He has degrees in music and theology, has lived in 4 states, and has traveled to more than a dozen countries doing charity work at orphanages, prisons, and clinics.
As a musician, Dan enjoys songwriting and inviting friends into creative ventures with him. For example, Sons of Solomon is a 15 piece outfit (10 of whom live in the States and 5 of whom live in Ethiopia) that writes and records together in a deliberate effort to bring together different people and different genres. If you didn’t pick it up from the names of his children, Dan’s favorite band is The Beatles.
Having recruited thousands of volunteers and raised millions of dollars in the past 15 years, Dan brings fundraising, development, and communication experience in the nonprofit and faith sectors to his role on the board of Columbus Songwriters Association. He is excited to offer his energy to the musicians, songwriters, and fans of local music in his beloved hometown because Columbus is “the best damn city in the land”, and our music is one reason for that.
